Support for Haiti

We have been following the news on the recent earthquake disaster and our thoughts and hope go out to the people of Haiti and all the rescue and relief personnel being deployed to the area right now. This tragic event will have long-term effects on that area and the world, and there are lots of ways that we can support the recovery effort. Just a few quick links to get you started:

You can text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti.

Inquiries concerning U.S. Citizens living or traveling in Haiti should be referred to the U.S. Department of State, Office of Overseas Citizens services, at 1-888-407-4747 or 202-647-5225.

A big shoutout to the Virginia Task Force 1, which is currently on mission in Haiti, pulling survivors from the rubble at this very moment. Also big shoutout to the USNS Comfort, which is essentially a floating hospital, and the USCGC Forward, which was the first large ship to arrive in Port-au-Prince after the disaster and coordinate initial evacuations and assessment of the situation.
