The Republic of Georgia is completing final steps for joining NATO and the European union amidst ongoing protests and threats from Russia. Construction begins on a US-designed missile-defense grid. Russian military forces build up along the northern border, but Russian threats are dismissed as saber-rattled from Moscow.

The 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne is on a training deployment, working with the Georgian military in a series of exercises in the Caucasus foothills. On the night of May 26th, three Russian mechanized divisions roar across the border, smashing Georgian defenses and driving deep into the heart of the republic. The 101st is bypassed and encircled by the Russian advance, which slows just north of Tblisi. With a healthy respect of US airpower, the Russian divisions are augmented with unusually heavy air defense elements, creating a effective barrier to US overflights of northern Georgia.

As the United States and NATO rush to deploy units to southern Georgia, Russia issues an ultimatum calling for the dismantling of the missile-defense grid, the establishment of a 25-km Russian security zone in northern Georgia and the immediate surrender of the 101st Airborne, which is trapped nearly 60-km behind Russian lines.

Refusing to let 4th Brigade become a hostage, the brigade commander issues a formal communique echoing the famous reply of General McAuliffe 66 years earlier, "NUTS!"

As the Russian noose closes around what World Network News has dubbed, "The Lost Brigade", the 4th BCT consolidates its ammo, readies its gear and prepares for a break-out. With the Russian air defense shield active, the soldiers of the 101st face a 60-km march through enemy held-territory with minimal air support and little hope of resupply and reinforcement.

Inferno Pepper Spray

We've already sold a bunch of these locally to our friends and family, and now it's available in our Web store. The threat of violent crime is unfortunately a very real possibility, so its wise to have a self-defense plan. Carrying a firearm or knife is a great equalizer, but not everyone is well-trained in the proper use of those weapons, and they can be turned against you. A practical solution is a non-lethal weapon, like Inferno, which is easy to use and easily obtainable. This video says it all.

Realism. We have it.

We have MICH-style helmets back in stock, finally. These are non-ballistic, suitable for training, milsim, or airsoft, but very realistic. They have adjustable straps and removable padding. These were hard to get for a while, but luckily we found a new source. We also carry the MultiCam helmet covers that fit over this puppy, so you can match your loadout.
And good thing is they are priced affordably.

Zombie Hunter T-Shirt and Patch Back in Stock!

Get 'em while they're hot, get 'em while you can. It's hard for us to keep this particular design in stock; it's so popular. I wonder why? Maybe it's because we live at ground zero for the zombie apocalypse - Pittsburgh. I practically grew up at Monroeville mall.

Polo Shirt Time

TRU-SPEC 24x7 Polo Shirts for Men

It's a beautiful sunny day in the 'Burgh and that makes me want to throw on a nice cool polo shirt. TRU-SPEC happens to make a very durable one that's also sharp-looking, so it's perfectly appropriate to wear for business casual, plain clothes work, courtroom or where ever. It's also made of a Polyester/Cotton Micro Knit Pique Fabric that's soft, comfortable, and keeps you cool and dry. AND, not only does it come in Men's sizes in many colors, but it also comes in Women's sizes (S-2XL) in three popular colors, too, woohoo!!!

TRU-SPEC Polos for Women

Both styles have pen stall pockets on the sleeve, and a mic clip on the front, and they are tough enough to take a beating and last through many washings, and still maintain color and shape. This really is one of the toughest polos I've ever worn. Please, check them out in our store. Thanks.

Sheepdogs

To paraphrase David Grossman's essay "On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs," most people in our society are sheep - kind, gentle, and productive creatures that wouldn't intentionally try to hurt one another. Then there are the wolves, who prey upon the sheep without mercy.

"Then there are sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf."

If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero's path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.

On that note, I give you the Sheepdog morale patch, by Milspec Monkey:

We have a bunch of other Milspec Monkey patches in stock, and I have only just begun to list them in our Web store. Since these are small lightweight items, the price of each patch includes only $1 shipping, and we can offer discounts for bulk orders through groupsales@darkthreads.com. Feel free to contact us via email to check on what's in stock.

Woolrich Elite Shorts

The recent "heatwave" had me digging my warm-weather apparel out of storage, and I thought I'd give a shoutout for shorts. It only has to get above 70 degrees F and then I don't wear long pants unless I really have to. The Woolrich Elite Shorts have a lot of the same features that you find in the Woolrich Elite pants:
  • The same rugged 8.5 oz. garment-washed 100% cotton canvas as the Woolrich Elite canvas pants.
  • Comfortable broken-in feeling from day one.
  • DuPont Teflon® Fabric Protector for a breathable, durable barrier that repels both water and oil-based spills.
  • 10 strategically located multi-use pockets: 4 open pockets, 2 wallet/ID pockets and 4 flapped security cargo pockets.
Just to name a few. There's also a lightweight, 8-pocket version, crafted from 7 oz. garment-washed 100% cotton ripstop for when its really hot.
